Thinking about oil, it can be described in many ways. As a viscous hydrophobic fluid that can’t be dissolved in water or simply as liquids that float on water. There are so many derivatives and varieties of oil in all manner of forms. If we were to create a list and this is by no means exhaustive, we may start where most of us start with petroleum, fuels, motor oil, synthetic oils and mineral oils. Now add to the list oil, grease, fats of animals, vegetable-based oils from nuts, seeds, trees and kernels. Whatever the type of oil you can think of, however you might describe it, there are numerous forms of oil in almost every part of our life.

So, no matter what type of oil it may be, if spill incidences occur, it can quickly begin to have a major impact on the environment when oils find their way into waterways and groundwater.
