A SpillSmart Fire Hose Reel Cover is a ‘must have’ compliance investment for properties with installed Fire Hose Reels.
They are Australian Made from heavy-duty, UV-stabilised red PVC and designed to cover the hose reel to assist in keeping the equipment in good working order. Protection from the environment is part of being in compliance with AS 2441-2005. If the Fire Hose Reel is installed in an external situation or in an aggressive environment it must be protected to preserve the integrity of the device's components. Examples include:
- Sun, ultraviolet radiation, wind, rain or salt spray.
- Abnormally dusty or moisture-laden environment.
- Environments having extremes of temperature.
Many Fire Hose Reels are placed in external situations where environmental considerations may not be considered ‘extreme’ but do require protection from weather elements to provide protection for the equipment and to satisfy this part of the Australian Standard.
