SpillSmart Pads, Pillows & Socks are largely found in our SpillSmart Spill Kits. However, these amazing absorbent spill products are popular to purchase separately. All of these absorbents soak up liquids. They are thirsty! However, each of these products gets the best results when used for the right application when soaking up a spill. Below we make some suggestions to help end-users get the best results with the best product for the job

These absorbents are rectangular, can be perforated and are available in Heavy Weight and Lightweight varieties. They kind of work like a sponge only better! They are super absorbent, especially for their size and thickness. SpillSmart Pads are also available in rolls and a great choice when a spill gets a little bigger and covers a larger area.
Pads are easy to use and quick to deploy and often found in workshops, manufacturing floors, storage warehouses, hospitality venues and shopping centres, transport companies and loading docks to name a few. The most important decision is choosing the right type of Pad for the liquid spilt. Identifying the liquid and referring to the SDS sheet will guide you to whether a Grey General Purpose, A Yellow Hazchem or a White Oil Only Pad will be the best and safest option. *See guide below. For a small spill, a leak or some drips Heavy Weight Pads will be a good option. For tool and machinery wipe downs, a small dribble a final clean or very high usage, Light Weight Pads will certainly get the job done with ease.

These guys are square, but not in a ‘nerdy’ sense. In fact, they are so cool the way they absorb larger amounts of liquid so quickly! Use SpillSmart Pillows when liquids are pooled, a persistent drip, under a broken seal, or a harder-to-reach place to soak up a leak. Great for use in warehouse storage areas, workshops and machinery maintenance areas.
Remember to select the right variety of SpillSmart Pillow for the liquid spilled. *See guide below.

SpillSmart Socks are available in 1.2m & 3m lengths x 75mm diameter. For some people, they look a bit like a sausage, a doorstop, or noodle. But make no mistake, you want these Socks when a spill is starting or threatening to get away. Primarily they are used to create a barrier around a liquid spill to prevent it from escaping on hard surfaces. These guys may even be your first line of defence to protect a drain. Alternatively, they can be used around a leaking machine to prevent the fluid from spreading to walkways or other areas of a workspace.
Perhaps a close relative to the humble absorbent sock is the Spill Smart Polypropylene Floating Boom. These booms are much larger at 3m in length and 125mm or 200mm in diameter. White in colour, they are designed to be clipped together to create the desired length, each boom overlapping to prevent the spill from escaping. Working by similar principles as socks, these floating booms do their job on water containing and absorbing Oil and Fuel Spills.
The compatibility guide below will help guide you to the right variety of Sock to assist you to contain your spill safely
