Oil and Water is pretty interesting. Both liquids have molecules that only stick to their own team. Oil containing non-polar molecules (no charge) stick together and Water containing polar molecules (have a small negative charge one end, small positive charge the other) attract each other. So, the teams are chosen and that is that is that. Except, the result of this has now allowed them to form 2 separate layers. Closely packed Water molecules have now sunk to the bottom allowing the Oil to sit on top. Water has now become the perfect transport vehicle potentially for oil and liquid hydrocarbons to wash into the environment polluting our waterways seamlessly. Oil spills on a body of water can quickly be spread by wind and currents devastating near surface creatures. Spills on the ground handled efficiently with SpillSmart Oil Only absorbents can remove the oil from water before it washes down drains reaching sensitive habitats.
For businesses who typically deal with oil and fuel based spills, SpillSmart Oil Only Hydrophobic Pads, Rolls, Socks, Pillows and Booms are perfect for you.

|
These products all maximise absorbency by only soaking up oil, fuel and hydrocarbons and leave the water behind. Perfect for clean ups on a rainy day or even spills on water. The range covers applications for oil based leaks drips and spills with pads, rolls and pillows. Socks for wrapping around machine leaks and containing small pools of messy oils and hydrocarbons. Plus, Floating Poly Booms for containing spills on water for months at a time whilst remaining buoyant even when full.
Explore the SpillSmart Oil and Fuel Absorbents Range below. A range committed to absorbing Oil, Fuels and Hydrocarbons that leaves the water behind.

SpillSmart Oil Only Pads have been designed to rapidly absorb hydrocarbon based spills. They are suited for both Marine and Land based applications where oil and oil based spills may occur. These pads are sized to be quickly placed in the path of a spill or to wipe down any machinery that has oil on the surface. Being hydrophobic, (repel water) they will float on water and remove oils from the water surface.

Cotton Heavy and Light Weight Pads are also available providing an organic natural alternative to this category. They are manufactured from sustainable resources, are biodegradable and have superior absorbency.

SpillSmart Oil Only Rolls are a convenient alternative to pads, especially in scenarios where greater coverage is required. They are designed to rapidly take up hydrocarbon based spills and are suited for both Marine and Land based applications where oil and oil based spills may occur. Being hydrophobic, (repel water) they will float on water and remove oils from the surface.

SpillSmart Oil Only Socks have been designed to provide a highly absorbent barrier preventing liquids from escaping on hard surfaces or down drains. Being hydrophobic (resist water) they do have the ability to float on water removing oils from the surface where a boom may not be applicable. They can also be placed around machines or drums to contain leaks and pools of messy liquid. These socks rapidly absorb oils, fuels and hydrocarbons.

|
SpillSmart Oil Only Pillows have been designed to contain larger amounts of fluid when a pad just isn’t enough. They are able to be placed in hard to reach area’s and are ideal for taking up accidental spills, drips and leaks. These durable pillows absorb oils, fuels and hydrocarbons, are hydrophobic, (repel water) perform in all weather conditions and are capable of floating on water.

SpillSmart Polypropylene Oil Only Booms are designed to contain oil based spills on water. They are super strong and durable. A premium filling of highly absorbent hydrophobic polypropylene will take up hydrocarbons without leaching its contents or loosing buoyancy for many months at a time.
