“Prevention is better than a cure” as they say. Below is a quick list of drum inspection check points that could easily be placed on a monthly checklist.
- Is there clear access to the drums being stored?
- Is there visual signs of corrosion, dents or bulging?
- Is there any visual signs of fluid leaks on the external surface of the drums?
- Are drum bungs sealed securely?
- Are the drums labelled correctly?
- Are there any signs of spills on the ground or signs of spills in the Drum Spill Bund Sump?
- Is a Spill Kit available in the drum storage area?
