SpillSmart Spill Kits provide everything required to handle the clean-up of both larger and smaller day to day spills. Although Spill Kits are primarily designed to be deployed when an incident occurs, individual items contained in these spill kits are available to be purchased separately for cleaning up those everyday occurrences or for restocking existing kits.
A small spill may be a maintenance issue, as is the case with most small leaks and drips from machinery between services or breakdowns. It could even be annoying drips when decanting liquids. Part of a workplace environmental plan is to address management of these smaller spills. This is where Envirosmart's comprehensive range of absorbents can be deployed.
Envirosmart absorbents include:
- Absorbent pads
- Rolls
- Pillows
- Socks
- Loose Particulate Absorbents: SpillSmart FloorSweep, SpillSmart RoadSweep, SpillSmart HazSorb, All Purpose Absorbent
Selecting the Right Absorbent
Is the spill on land or in and around water?
If the leaks and spills are likely to occur on and around water then our Oil & Fuel range of absorbents is the correct choice. These absorbents are Oleophilic (attracts hydrocarbons) and hydrophobic (repels water Based substances)
Land based spills can be taken care of with our entire range of absorbents.
What type of liquid is likely to be spilled?
Most general spills such as degreaser, coolants, oil & fuel, inks and paints etc are adequately served by deploying our General Purpose range of absorbents. For aggressive acids or bases plus everything our General Purpose products cover, then our Hazchem absorbents will suit best.
If it is a hydrocarbon based liquid on water or land, again choose the Oil & Fuel range of absorbents.
Loose Particulates or Primary Containment Measures?
You may find that more than one absorbent from our range can be deployed to complete the job. It’s not unusual to combine the use of absorbent pads, rolls and pillows with loose particulate absorbents to ensure that the spill is completely cleaned up and the environment is returned to its natural state.
